Why start a firm?

In 2010, my former post-doc advisor asked if I would talk with a friend of hers who ran a small executive search firm. He wanted to bring a life scientist into the firm. He convinced me to spend six weeks working with that small firm - and I never left. The strength of the relationships I discovered in and through that new kind of work convinced me to explore a different avenue – and the depth of those relationships has led to the launch of EDDA partners.

That ‘small’ search firm was very successful. We grew, and eventually merged in to larger companies. Our clients remained the same broad group of educational and research institutions – public and private, large and small. The work and client relationships were meaningful throughout, but I longed for the hands-on feeling of that smaller firm.

Work in the lab as a biologist taught me a lot about asking questions, setting up experiments, perseverance, honesty, and thinking about what variables you can affect.

Life outside of the lab has proven to me that underneath everything is the integrity of people and the power of working together.

Update 2022 During this year a good friend and I have gotten back to working together - and I suspect and hope that this will continue. This leads me to my first major edit of the website.

And so this firm of one two will always strive to work with partners.
